Your Artwork. Our Life’s Work.

Our Services

Stamats Art Appraisals values personal property for individuals, businesses, institutional collections, and estates. Though we specialize in the valuation of fine art paintings, prints, and sculptures, our services extend beyond these media and include fine antiques.

Depending on the intended use, we offer the following types of appraisals:

SAA Logo

Appraisal Report
A highly detailed, durable legal document that specifies and supports the valuation of an object or collection based on thorough market analysis.

SAA Logo

Restricted Appraisal
A less detailed appraisal designed for situations in which there are no intended users other than the client. Valuations may not be used for underwriting purposes.

Verbal Appraisal
When a formal written valuation is not needed, a verbal appraisal provides approximations of value. An hourly fee will be charged for this service.

For clients looking to divest fine art holdings, Stamats Art Appraisals partners with Black Earth Gallery Art Consulting to connect sellers with vetted, qualified purchasers.

Standards & Purposes

All written appraisals comply with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice, IRS guidelines, and the International Society of Appraisers report protocols.

Stamats Art Appraisals provides comprehensive appraisals for charitable contributions, insurance coverage, damage and loss claims, estate tax liability, and equitable distribution.

Confidentiality

All appraisals are strictly confidential.

Who We Work With

Our clients are as varied as the artwork we examine. Typically, we serve members of the legal community, banks and financial institutions, insurance companies, and individuals.

Together, Anne and Bill are avid art collectors with interests in fine art lithographs, serigraphs, and intaglio prints; Van Briggle pottery; African and Oceanic art; Pre-Columbian art; antique barn lightning rods; and mid-century ashtrays.
